A psuedo-technical drawing of the garment I'll be submitting for my 'stretch' project at uni. The concept has evolved somewhat from my initial designs (see [link] for one) as I got confused and had difficulty pinning it down. There's a lot behind this. It's inspired by the landscapes of John Virtue, especially his methods of working. There's some Zen calligraphy influences in there too; also some abstract portraits from Picasso (looking at the way we change our faces). In the end we have so many choices, we don't know what to choose. There's a lot of uncertainty.

The design is a mix of digital work, photos and scanned fabric.

I used some brushes from and fonts from dafont [link]

The actual garment has now been finished, and is made from khaki cotton jersey and white tactel (hand-finished with silicone on the front and piped through the edges).

Any comments are appreciated. I'd especially love constructive critique on the layout :)

Thanks for taking a peep  :blowkiss:

That is a very creative design, and very unique without being gaudy. I'm no designer, but this looks like a winning entry to me ^_^

Oh wait, is the "stretch" project a contest? I'm not sure... Well, it is a great design regardless =P

layout:
those two fonts are fighting for superiority.. in this sort of thing I try to pick one loud, one muted and scheme them together, kinda title, block text stylee

top:
wow. pretty bloody good if I do say so..
all the last year I've been photocopying photos and sketches etc of hnd fasion students so I gotta reasonably good idea about quality and that my dear is a winner.
I fall into the 'wanting to use all the juicy fonts at once' category :D I toned down the colour on one lot, from white to khaki. If I get time I'll look for a more subtle one :D Thank you muchly, points noted  Graphics/layout has never quite been my bag and I struggle with it.

As for the top, I'm honoured with your compliments dear, thank you. I know you have great taste.
It seems you're in good company, i've had 3 peeps trying to buy it from me already, and I only finished it saturday :faint:
Photocopying? I love those machines when they choose to work :D

i like the background and the objects... really really good. the font on the left side is disturbing, especially it's pinkt tone. the fonts in the middle are somehow "military" or "dirty" which i find very interesting in combination with the object. the upper row should maybe have some more space to the row down there. i like it :)
Looks teh sexy. I have to agree with =mors3, the two fonts seem to be fighting each other, with the grungy GTA one winning out; the other one gets lost in its background. Those quibbles aside, it's a fantastic and original design. Post photos of you in it you must, methinks.
